We're All Connected

Ever wonder why people come into your life?
The people we meet—the energy they exuberate, the words they express… How often do you take the time to reflect and wander about the meaning behind any of it?
The more I spend time doing just this, I recognize how aligned we truly are.
When we take a moment to connect, we can learn so much.
We can learn something about ourselves, about another’s situation, about the world, about anything, truly, anything at all.
We may learn that we all have something we are working to overcome or are in the midst of trying to!
This theme, the idea of us all being connected, seems to be popping up everywhere.
I suppose it’s because I’m putting energy into it, or perhaps it’s because I’ve been thinking about it lately, I see it more. Whatever the case I do not seem to be the only one. Others have expressed this same idea to me, this notion of all being connected.
It was just a few days ago the sun shone down upon us, as it always does. But, here, on the pacific coast there was this utter raw beauty.

An image captured by a fellow BC resident, Kenn Cawker was featured on Global News on the evening of 04-04-25. It was my mother who illuminated the profound relationship between this image and the thread of connection that binds us to one another. They are echoes of our shared existence, don’t you think? Subtle reminders that we are all strands in the same vast tapestry of being. I have come to understand that there are multiple expressions that hold the power to reveal our interconnectedness, to humble us before the immensity of the universe, and to remind us that none of us walks this path alone.
The saying goes: friendship can last a lifetime, for a season, or for a reason. But they all play a part in our lives, don’t they? If we take the time to understand, we can find a meaningful reason behind every encounter.
People walk past us as we do them. This is a fact and a constant reality in any social setting. They may walk into our lives for a short while or for the remainder of our lives.
And then, there will be those who leave an inedible mark without ever realizing it—quiet influences whose words, actions, or mere presence ripple through us, shaping our inner landscapes in ways both deep and unseen. Like stars light-years away, their glow reaches us across time and space, quietly guiding, comforting, or awakening something within, all without them ever knowing the depth of their impact. Well, not unless we take the time to share any of it with them.
But, if you feel this way about someone out there, then couldn't this be said about you too? Perhaps, there is someone out there feeling the same way about you too! That’s a nice thought to consider. So I will. It makes my heart feel full at the very attention of it.
I will end this note here and add the images shared with me. A request promptly obliged by the beautiful and amazing Lisa-Marie Marrelli at the end of one of many beautiful practices. My personal refuge, my place of therapy at Yoga Generation: Pitt Meadows!
It is here, where I often feel the deepest connections align me.
When I am able to close my eyes, find guidance in the voices of their teachers, share in, and feel the energy of the bodies around me.
With Love,
Melanie Watts
