How I Infuse Education

I draw on the latest neuroscience to help clients understand the powerful connection between brain and body. When the timing feels right and the client is open, we weave in brain–body education to create strategies that truly fit their world. Whether that means tapping into sports, playful games, artistic expression, or other meaningful interests, these strategies are designed to be both practical and deeply personal. When regulation is rooted in joy, curiosity, and self-understanding, it becomes something we grow into—not something imposed from the outside.

Working with many families of children with ADHD, I integrate executive functioning support into sessions to help build skills like time management, planning, and frustration tolerance. Together, we create practical strategies that can be applied at home, at school, and in everyday life. This may include in-session practice, personalized home strategies, and collaboration with schools to ensure a wrap-around approach that supports the child as a whole.

When needed, I also offer Integrated School Management meetings to help advocate for your child’s needs within the school system. Within my scope, I provide parents with guidance and insight on how to navigate advocacy with confidence and clarity.

I’m here as a team member—someone who understands the challenges not only from a professional perspective, but also as a parent and someone who has worked within the school system. I care deeply about the future of our children and the collective well-being of families navigating these realities.

I have worked as an educator since 2009, beginning with preschool, special education and primary ages. I now work as a school counsellor within district 43 and provide part-time hours within my private practice.

I have worked with a variety of children with varying needs and exceptionalities during my time as both an educator and counsellor.

During sessions, I can provide elements of education that can include:

  • Zones of Regulation (what it looks like, feels like, strategies, role playing, etc.)

  • Executive functioning skills (time management, focus, and strategies)

  • Understanding the brain body connection (physiological needs and our nervous system responses- how they interact and the roles they play)

  • Becoming more familiar with oneself and understanding a diagnosis such as:

    • ADHD

    • Anxiety
