Movement & Dance

Dance & Movement Therapy

Movement has always been a part of my story. I began dancing at the age of four and have experienced firsthand the transformative power it can have on both the mind and body. Dance isn’t just an art form—it’s a powerful tool for emotional regulation, brain development, and overall well-being.

Recent research, including a feature in National Geographic, highlights how dance supports neuroplasticity, enhances executive functioning, improves focus, and helps regulate the nervous system. For children and teens with ADHD and anxiety, movement can offer a tangible way to build self-awareness, release energy, and develop emotional resilience.

Whether you or your child already has a love for dance, or simply wants to explore movement as a means of self-regulation and expression, I bring a rich background in dance and education to weave into our sessions. I trained with Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto, performed as a Felion with the BC Lions, and danced with an adult performance group through Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver.

Movement has also played a vital role in my own personal healing journey—helping me build confidence and manage symptoms of anxiety and depression. Beyond performance, I’ve taught in both studio and independent school settings, choreographing for seasonal productions and nurturing students’ creativity through movement.

Dance genres I specialize in include:

Ballet

Contemporary

Jazz

Salsa

Hip Hop

Acro

Tap

Dance and movement can be integrated into counselling sessions when it aligns with your goals, comfort, and interests—creating space for healing that is not only expressive, but also grounded in science and embodied experience.

Intuitive Movement Pilot Program

For those curious about exploring movement as a pathway to deeper self-connection, I’ll soon be launching a free 6–8 week intuitive movement program designed to help adults reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and process personal growth through movement, music, nature, and reflection.

This volunteer-based pilot program will serve as a test group to shape a future wellness offering. Together, we’ll learn to listen to the body’s cues, move to a variety of music, and pause to reflect on lyrics, sensations, and what naturally arises. Each session will create space to explore and gently process emotional and somatic experiences in real time. Sessions will take place outdoors or indoors on Wednesdays, beginning in either Fall or Spring. We are currently gauging interest to finalize times and locations. Your participation and reflections will play a meaningful role in shaping the future of this program. If this speaks to you, please complete the short confidential form below. There’s no commitment required at this stage—just a way to express interest and stay informed.
